POLICY AND COORDINATION (P&C) WING

Headed by Joint Scientific Adviser (P&C)

1. Functions of P&C Wing

• Establishment of institutes and laboratories for research and development in the scientific and technological fields.
• Monitoring and evaluation of research and development work.
• Establishment of science universities as specifically assigned by the Federal Government.
• Science, Technology and Innovation Policy.
• Formulation of Implementation Strategy and Action Plan.
• Coordination with Federal & Provincial S&T Councils/Departments/Organizations and NGOs dealing with S&T.
• Evaluation of credentials of Scientists/Technologists for recommendation of different categories of Civil Awards and their presentation in Awards Sub-Committee on Science, Engineering and Education in the Cabinet Division.
• Input on different sectoral policies forwarded by Ministries and Departments.
• Reply to National Assembly and Senate Questions pertaining to S&T policy, emerging technologies and priority areas of research in Science & Technology.

• Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) (PMNH, PASTIC)
• National University of Science and Technology (NUST)
