Federal Minister Khalid Khan Magsi Chairs 6th BoG Meeting of Pakistan Halal Authority Thursday, April 17, 2025 Islamabad, The Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA) held its 6th Board of Governors (BoG) meeting today under the chairmanship of Hon. Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Khalid Khan Magsi. During the meeting, several pivotal decisions were approved to enhance Pakistan’s halal industry and international trade relations. The Board formally launched the Halal Certification Mark Scheme, aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision for ease of business and export promotion. This initiative aims to create a national symbol of authenticity for halal-certified products, while helping PHA transition into a self-sustained organization by generating revenue through its operations. In another key decision, the Board revised the Halal Mark License/Certification Fee, introducing zero fees for exported halal food and non-food items, while reducing fees for local food items by 50%. This move is expected to boost halal exports and align with global industry standards. Additionally, the Board approved MoUs with several countries, including Belarus, Malaysia, Türkiye, Indonesia, and the UAE, to foster international halal trade. The agreements will streamline halal certification processes and open new markets for Pakistani halal products. Furthermore, the Board approved the registration of slaughterhouses and food service providers to ensure compliance with halal principles and international standards.
